When we see our coworkers resign, naturally we wonder if their next job experience will be better and if they’ll move up faster. The fear-of-missing-out phenomenon takes over—especially if support from our boss is lacking.

Researchers say employees are likely to imitate behavior when they see their colleagues quit. When we observe our peers handing in their resignation or see trends in the news, we’re more likely to question our own reasons for staying in a job.

Rather than succumb to this train of thought or let passing trends guide your long-term career choices, ask yourself if you’ve found your fight.

Knowing my fight has been a driving force throughout my journey and has informed many critical decisions at life’s junctures. When you know your why, choosing the right path involves greater clarity because you apply a single rationale to everything you do.

Temporary disruptions like opinions and speculations start to fade in the rearview mirror while your life’s worthwhile priorities take the front seat. Your choices become driven by a strong vision and a sense of purpose.

Join me in celebrating the final installment of my Pathway Countdown, which is number one on the list: find your fight. Watch this video and learn why finding your fight is the engine behind all the other pathways I’ve explored in my new book that’s available in audio and electronic formats today. Stay tuned for the hardcover release on March 8!

Live your why,

Steve

P.S. Don’t let passing trends inform your career choices. Instead, choose a more meaningful compass for life’s decisions: find your fight. Learn how in my new book that’s available today in e-book and audio-book formats!
